Strain of the Week: Dreamcatcher

What is Dreamcatcher?

Dreamcatcher is a heavy, berry-flavored hybrid that combines Blueberry/Black Domina x Blue Chronic. This strain tends to be sedating and heady, as the name might suggest, laying into the limbs with compounding physical weight. Dreamcatcher is functional and relaxing in small doses, but its sedative attributes increase with each consecutive hit. The strain’s multiple veins of “Blue” lineage give this flower a pleasant fruity aroma and taste. Enjoy Dreamcatcher’s permeating relaxation to diminish stress and encourage rest.

What Are the Strongest Cannabis Strains?

The strongest strains are obviously those with the highest THC content. Generally speaking, anything that surpasses 20 percent could be considered pretty potent. However, let’s say one grower’s harvest of Kosher Kush tested at 22 percent THC. Due to differences in environmental conditions, growing techniques, and genetic phenotypes, another grower’s Kosher Kush could come out wildly below the mark and test at, let’s say, 15 percent. What Are Cannabis Oil, Shatter, and Wax Extracts?

Shatter, wax, honeycomb, oil, crumble, sap, budder, pull-and-snap…these are some of the nicknames cannabis extracts have earned through their popularity, prevalence, and diversification. If you’ve heard any of those words before, they were likely used to describe BHO (butane hash oil), CO2 oil, or similar hydrocarbon extracts. This list of descriptive subcategories might lead you to believe that there are stark differences between each one, but the division between glass-like shatter and crumbly wax is more superficial than you’d expect. Traveling to California for Legal Cannabis? Here’s What to Know

Sorry, Los Angeles won’t be one of the cities where stores are open when the state-regulated market launches on New Year’s Day. (TriggerPhoto/iStock)

It’s been a strange year. You’re forgiven if you don’t feel quite ready for 2018. But if you’re traveling to California for New Year’s Day and the state’s launch of adult-use cannabis sales, take heart! We’re here for you.

Sales Don’t Begin Everywhere on Jan. 1

If you’re counting on cannabis stores to be open near you on Jan. 1, don’t. Many parts of the state, including major cities like Los Angeles and San Francisco, won’t see legal sales begin until days or weeks after New Year’s Day. Others have decided to ban retail sales entirely. To help you plan, we’ve been putting together a list of cities where dispensaries are expected to be up and running.

Why the uneven rollout? In the months leading up to Jan. 1, state and local officials scrambled to put rules in place. Not everybody finished in time for sales to start on Day One. Continue reading “Traveling to California for Legal Cannabis? Here’s What to Know”

What Are Moon Rocks and How Do You Smoke Them?

Have you ever been so high that you couldn’t feel your eyebrows, even when you physically touch them? If not, try smoking Moon Rocks and I guarantee you’ll get there. I recently smoked them for the first time ever, and two months later, I’m still unable to locate my facial features. (Worth it, by the way.)

What Are Moon Rocks?

Said to be originally created in 2015 by legendary West Coast rapper Kurupt (and trademarked as Kurupt Moonrock), Moon Rocks are a THC megazord. They’re essentially cannabis buds (historically GSC, but any strain suffices) dipped in or sprayed with hash oil, then rolled in kief. Though the potency of each batch of Moon Rocks varies and depends on how it’s made/who produces it, the general consensus is that they hover around 50% THC.
